Funeral services for Gary L. Watson Sr. of Birmingham, formerly of Tishabee, were held on Saturday, Sept. 26, at 11 a.m. at Christian Valley Baptist Church in Boligee. The Rev. Tracy Giles officiated. Interment followed in Taylor Place Cemetery in Boligee. Larkin and Scott Funeral Directors of Demopolis directed the services.
Survivors include his mother, Mary L. Watson; a devoted friend, Loretta Hines of Birmingham; four sons, Gary Lee (Tasha) Watson, David Watson, Rayshard Cunningham and Peyton Elliott Watson, all of Birmingham; nine grandchildren, Gabrielle, Daviaunna, Gary III, Atorria, David Jr., Ny’Kisha, Cameron, Sasha and Joshu; four brothers, Herman Jackson of Birmingham, Thomas Jackson of Boligee, William Watson of Boligee and Joseph (Terri) Watson of Birmingham; one uncle, Joseph (Ruby) Jackson of Birmingham; two aunts, Faniie Fields of Boligee and Emma (Archie) Johnson of Birmingham; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
