Dear editor, The Times,

Mayes2 wishes to thank the many people who made our “Lunch at the Library” and the “Sax in the City” a success on Thursday, Oct. 22.

We had a wonderful time performing, sharing stories, visiting with relatives and seeing friends – old and new.

Demopolis is indeed the “City of the People” and we are humbled by the friendliness of your citizens!

Thank you, Kelley Smith and Pat Brady at the Demopolis Area Chamber of Commerce and Morgan Grimes at the Demopolis Public Library for seeing this through.

Thank you, David Snow, for running the concert announcement twice, along with the follow-up article.

A special thanks to Roy and Becky Jordan – my cousin and his dear wife – for going above and beyond to make our performances a reality.

We plan to come back to experience “Christmas on the River” and hope to perform more in your area.

So, Mayes2 will see y’all again and let the good times roll!
