Funeral services for Augusta Bell Billups of Detroit, Mich., formerly of Jefferson, were held on Saturday, Nov. 7, at 1 p.m. at the Small Memorial AME Zion Church in Jefferson. The Rev. J. Lawrence Wofford officiated. Interment followed in Scott Memorial Cemetery in Jefferson. Larkin and Scott Funeral Directors of Demopolis directed the services.
Survivors include a son, Robert (Betty) Richardson Sr. of Detroit, Mich.; two stepsons, Jessie (Iris) Richardson of Linden and Willie Richardson of Demopolis; five stepsisters, Lena and Chauncey Holston of Bessemer, Ethel Richardson of Birmingham and Bertha and Rose Richardson of Demopolis; three grandchildren, Robert (Bernadine) Richardson Jr. of Jacksonville, N.C., and Roland (Sheila) Richardson and Cheryl Montcrief, both of Detroit, Mich.; a host of step-grandchildren; two brothers, Charlie (Lucille) White of Mobile and Robert (Mary) White Jr. of San Antonio, Texas; one sister, Dorothy Merriweather of Jefferson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
