Mrs. Leslie Sharon Truelove Townsend, age 54, died Sunday, January 3, 2010 at her home.
Graveside services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, January 7, 2010 at Sandfield Cemetery off Hwy. 223 in Troy, AL. with Rev. Matt Mobley officiating.
The family will receive friends at Kidd-Robbins Funeral Home Chapel Wednesday, January 6, 2010 from 5:30 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.
Leslie Sharon was preceded in death by her mother, Nora Lee Kindred Truelove.
She was the beloved wife of thirty-one years of Kim B. Townsend of and the beloved mother of Christopher Kindred Townsend of Mobile.
Other survivors include her father, James W. Truelove of Graysville, AL; two sisters, Suzanne T. (Ross) Fishwick of Trussville and Stefanie T. (Adam) Pierce of Atlanta, GA; one brother, Jonathan A.K. (Claire) Truelove of Neydens, France; two aunts, Anne K. Orendorff and Sue Kindred(Billy) Self all of Millbrook; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be James Cooper, John Cooper, Jesse Foley and Garth Wright.
Sharon Townsend has been a resident of Demopolis the past 35 years and a member of Trinity Episcopal Church. A local enthusiast, Sharon quietly assisted the late Winston Smith with research for The People of His Pasture and The People’s City. The Marengo County Historical Society, the Marengo County Genealogical Society, and the promising Marengo County History and Archives Museum have all benefited from Sharon’s skills. Sharon was also a member of the Alabama Genealogical Society and a charter member of the Canebrake Players in Demopolis.
