All-Pro Productions makes its first stop in Demopolis on Saturday, Feb. 6, in what could be the precursor to making the City of the People of regular stop on the the professional wrestling circuit’s travel schedule.

“We run (the show) in Philadelphia, Miss., before and we’ve got the Expo Center booked in Columbia, Miss. afterward,” promoter Kenny Valiant said. “Demopolis is one of those smaller towns in between that we want to see how it works out. It’ll be one of those towns where we think we’ll have a good draw.”

All-Pro Productions, an organization that has been putting on wrestling shows for nearly 20 years, hosts events in cities all over the southern United States.

“You’ve got to get out there and get everything booked,” Valiant said of the effort that goes into scheduling events, which All-Pro holds nearly every weekend. “The weekend is the best time to book in the smaller towns.”

Shows will often feature up to 10 matches. The Demopolis event is scheduled to have seven matches including a bull rope match and an anything-goes bout.

“It’s a professional show and it’s well done,” Valiant said. “You don’t have to worry about profanity. You can bring the baby and bring Grandma too. There’ll be seven matches in Demopolis. That’s about a two-and-a-half to three-hour show.”

Cards are always subject to change, but the Demopolis event is scheduled to have a handful of former World Wrestling Entertainment stars including Jake “The Snake” Robers, Doink “The Clown” and Bull Buchanan. Other stars will include long-time NWA and WCW competitors Brickhouse Brown and Mr. Wrestling as well as Cameron Valentine, the nephew of long-time star Greg “The Hammer” Valentine.

“We’ll rotate them out,” Valiant said of the ever-changing number of stars All-Pro uses. “they work for other companies too. And we’ve got former WWE stars that will be on the card over (in Demopolis). There’s Bull Buchanan, he’s going to Japan right after he gets through (in Demopolis). Doink ‘The Clown’ goes to Belgium a lot.”

Doors the night of the show open at 6 p.m. and the show begins at 7. Tickets for the TV taping event are $10 and are currently on sale at the Theo Ratliff Activity Center and will also be available the day of the show beginning at noon.

“We want them to come out and enjoy a big night of fun and wrestling,” Valiant said.
