Robert Vick

Robert Gaines Vick, age 72, of Gallion died on Monday, Jan. 25, 2010, at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa.
He was a graduate of Linden High School and served in the Alabama National Guard. He retired from Georgia Pacific Corporation and was a member of Providence Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Barnes Vick; two daughters, Allison (Donnie) Cobb of Sawyerville and Debra (Brian) Petrarca of Apex, N.C.; three brothers, Phares Vick of Demopolis, Jimmy Vick of Putnam and Tommy Vick of Linden; a sister, Carolyn Vick Nelson of Demopolis; and four grandchildren, Sal Petrarca, Tyler Cobb, Nicki Petrarca and Lane Cobb.
Funeral services were held at Providence Baptist Church on Wednesday, Jan. 27, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Warren Huggins, Paul Whitcomb and Donnie Cobb officiating. Burial was at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery in Gallion. O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home of Linden directed the services.
Active pallbearers were Milton Vick, Darryl Tucker, Walden Tucker, Grady Martin, Keith Hinson and Norman Averette. Honorary pallbearers were the members of the men’s Sunday school class of Providence Baptist Church, the Caleb’s Cruisers and the Linden High School Class of 1958.
