Harold Tait

Harold Tait, 72, passed away at his home on Jan. 21, 2010.
He was born in Wilcox County, to Lucas Edwin Tait and Matilda Mae Fairly, who preceded him in death.
He served in the U.S. Army and spent 44 years in the pulp and paper industry with Gulf States Paper Corp. and Alabama River Pulp. After retirement, he relocated from Monroeville to Pensacola, Fla.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Caralie Vick Tait; a son, David Harold (Toni) Tait Jr.; a daughter, Vicki (Jay) Baker; four grandchildren, Cara Shamblin (Wayne) White, Drew (Brittany) Shamblin, Trey Tait and Kyle Tait: four great-grandsons, Chase, Gabe and Tucker White and Caleb Shamblin; three brothers and three sisters.
Services were held at McIlwain Memorial Presbyterian Church in Pensacola on Jan. 28 at 11 a.m. Graveside services were at Tait Cemetery in Coy, Ala., at 3:30 p.m.
Pallbearers were David Kennedy, Kenneth Fairly, Pat DeLong, Drew Shamblin, Trey Tait and Kyle Tait.
Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel of Pensacola, Fla., directed the services.
