Funeral services for Sallie Anderson of Demopolis were held on Thursday, April 15, at 1 p.m. at Morning Star Baptist Church in Demopolis. Minister James L. Dunn officiated. Burnquetta Johnson served as the mistress of order. Interment followed in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Demopolis. Larkin and Scott Funeral Directors of Demopolis directed the services.
Survivors include two sons, Willie (Ora) Anderson and Jimmy (Shelia) Anderson, both of Demopolis; one daughter, Christine (Frank) Anderson of Demopolis; one grandson whom she raised, Willie Smith of Demopolis; 15 other grandchildren, Tracy (Ross) Pollard and Barbara (Douglas) Lambert of Atlanta, Ga., Misty Davis of New York, N.Y., Travis (Kelona) Anderson of Jacksonville, Fla., Henry (Beverly) Smith of Tuscaloosa, Angel James, Steve Essex and Katrina (Keith) Cosby, all of Huntsville, Christopher Griffin and Curt Anderson, both of Demopolis, Constance (Larry) NeSmith of Columbus, Ga., Keisha Mayfield and Lisa Anderson, both of Tacoma, Wash., and Darryl Anderson and Tanya (David) Young, both of Tuscaloosa; one aunt, Millie James of Demopolis; one sister-in-law, Grace Anderson of Demopolis; one brother-in-law, Jimmy Jones of Mobile; five nephews, Kenny Jones of Mobile, Jake (Felicia) Anderson of Bowie, Md., Richard (Charlene) Anderson of Montgomery, and Sylvester (Freda) Anderson and David (Terelle) Anderson of Birmingham; four nieces, Cora Madins of Los Angeles, Calif., Nadine (Franklin) Pruitt of Chicago, Ill., and Frances Anderson and Mary (Jesse) Fields, both of Demopolis; two cousins, Margaret Black and Fannie Mae Braxton, both of Birmingham; five family members, Dorothy Smith, Ada Davis, Hazel Mitchell, Candy Spencer and Yolanda Anderson; 22 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
