“It will cost about $28,000 to paint Bluff Hall,” said Kirk Brooker, the operations manager for the Historical Society. “The Marengo County Historical Society has been raising funds for the past couple of years to do this large project.”

The ticket price will go towards painting Bluff Hall, as will any donations taken that night.

“Before Brenda Miller even completed her house, she generously agreed to host an event to help raise funds to paint Bluff Hall,” said Brooker. “The Society’s board of directors are very excited to work with Mrs. Miller, and want to encourage everyone to take advantage of this opportunity to see this wonderful house, while donating to a worthy cause.”

“It’s very exciting to help the Historical Society,” Miller said. “I always like to help to raise money for anything that helps Demopolis.

“I think they will raise a lot of money, and I’m excited about everybody seeing my house!”

Bluff Hall, built in 1832, is owned and operated by the Marengo County Historical Society, which is a non-profit organization. The Society operates annually on membership, donations, admissions and fund-raisers. Large maintenance projects such as the painting of Bluff Hall takes a considerable amount of funding above and beyond annual operating costs. Without the Society’s generous members and support of the community, Bluff Hall would not be able to operate.
