Charles Thomas Langham Sr., age 76, of Akron passed away on April 30, 2010, at Hale County Hospital in Greensboro.
He was born on Nov. 13, 1933, in Hale County to the late James Millard and Mamie Louise Callahan. He worked in the timber business for most of his life.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Frances Holmes Langham; two brothers, James D. Langham and Edward Langham; a sister, Louise Johnson; and a great-granddaughter, Madi Smith.
Survivors include a daughter, Gayle Langham Seale of Greensboro; three sons, Charles Thomas (Wanda) Langham Jr. of Newbern, David Bruce Langham of Akron and William Keith (Paula) Langham of Greensboro; three sisters, Betty Stephens of Bessemer, Evelyn Chapman of Sawyerville and Ruth Johnson of Moundville; two brothers, Robert (Doris) Langham of Sawyerville and William Wade (Bobbie) Langham of Cottondale; 12 grandchildren, Kate Smith, Brandi (Drew) Miller, Emilie Langham, Thomas Langham, Chrissy Langham, Casey Langham, Kayla Langham, Kimberly (Marshall) Gibson, Brooke Seale, James Seale IV, Holley Tingle and Paige Tingle; and 10 great-grandchildren, Jackson Smith, Josie Miller, Chance Langham, Austin Fancher, Anna Fancher, Chandler Davidson, Lawson Davidson, Adley Young, Madeline Langham and Robert James Seale.
Graveside services will be held on Sunday, May 2, at 2 p.m. at Oakwood Cemetery with the Rev. Steve Vernon officiating. The family will receive friends at the home of Gayle Langham Seale after the service. Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel is directing the services.

Moore Jarmen, Inkil Hwangpo, DO, employees of the Hale County Hospital, employees of Colonial Haven Nursing Home, Don “Snooty” Moore, Comfort Care Hospice of Demopolis and all of his friends in the timber industry.
