Jewell Yelverton Harrison, age 88, of Demopolis passed away on May 23, 2010, at Hospice of West Alabama.
She was born on May 6, 1922.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Verdie and Zelma Jones Yelverton; her husband, Rudolph Harrison Sr.; her sister, Geneva Givhan; and her brothers, J.C. Yelverton, Dr. Glen Yelverton and Clyde Yelverton.
Survivors include two daughters, Jane Maddox Harrison (John David) Lockwood of Jacksonville, Fla., and Betty Harrison (Gray) Allen of Demopolis; a son, Rudolph (Vickie) Harrison Jr. of Atlanta, Ga.; a sister, Linda Yelverton Jackson of Montgomery; six granddaughters, Jane Ashley Lockwood (James Randall) Racine, Holly Chapman Lockwood Hall, Elizabeth Harrison Lockwood (Kevin Elliott) Greene, Helen Lois Harrison (Lee) England of Birmingham, Katherine Leigh Harrison (Daniel) Pesavento of Atlanta and Leah Allen (Michael) Wilson; two grandsons, Dr. Rudolph Preston (Tersa) Harrison of Birmingham and Edward Gray (Naomi) Allen Jr.; 10 great-grandsons, James Maddox Racine, Lockwood Ryan Greene, Matthew Patrick Greene, Rudolph Preston Harrison Jr., Robert Lee England V, Edward Gray Allen III, Zachary Thomas Allen, Taylor Curtis Fleming, Michael Grable Wilson Jr. and Henry Harrison England; and six great-granddaughters, Megan Chapman Shiver, Elizabeth Ashley Greene, Ann Lucy Harrison, Helen Brice England, Emma Pesavento and Allie Harrison Busby.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, May 26, at 3 p.m. at Marion Cemetery with the Rev. James Layton Waters Jr. officiating. Kirk Funeral Home Marion Chapel is directing the services.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers will be her great-grandchildren.
