Peggy S. Phillips, age 82, of Thomaston died on May 25, 2010, at her home.
She was a homemaker and a lifelong resident of Thomaston. She was a member of the Thomaston Baptist Church and the Study Club. She was known for being a seamstress, quilt maker and baker of party cakes.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Hinson Phillips; her parents, Paul Smith and Rosetta Smith; a sister, Mary Elizabeth Head; and two brothers, Clifford Smith and Paul Smith.
Survivors include three daughters, Nancy P. (Larry) Coxwell of Alabaster, Barbara P. (Robert J.) Webb of Birmingham and Lisa P. (Mark) Lovett of Alabaster; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services were held on Friday, May 28, at 11 a.m. at Thomaston Cemetery with the Rev. Randall Mims officiating. O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Linden directed the services.
Active pallbearers were Brian Earnest, Lee Coxwell, Gary Majors, Bob Webb, Larry Coxwell, Mark Lovett, Larry Holt and John Austin Fendley.
A special appreciation is extended to her caregivers, Delsie Jones, Tonya Brown, Jackie Aldridge, Wanda Gardner and hospice nurse Angela Stokes.
