Linden City Schools board of education chair Joyce Yeager announced on Thursday the candidates for the first round of interviews in the board’s search for a superintendent.

The successful candidate will follow Scott Collier, who resigned from the position at the end of this school year.

Interviews will be held Monday and Tuesday in the board meeting room at the school board office on Main Street.

“The interviews will be open to the public,” Yeager said. “We had a strong pool of candidates to choose from.”

Yeager said that, following the interviews, the board would meet in executive session to discuss the candidates.

“We may have to narrow it down to the top two and go from there,” she said. “We’ll just have to wait and see how the interviews go to see what the next step would be.”

The candidates and interview times are:

George Baldwin, director of Marengo County Technology Center in the Linden City Schools system; will interview on Monday at 9:30 a.m.

Randy Thomley, principal of Winfield Elementary School; will interview on Monday at 11 a.m.
