Emma Weaver Glass Bentley, age 93, of Uniontown passed away on June 12, 2010, at Vaughan Regional Medical Center in Selma.
She was born on Aug. 29, 1916, at Westwood to the lat Julius Franklin and Adéle Davidson Ellis Glass.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Samuel Beasley Jr.; a sister, Lyle Glass Young; a brother, Edwin Robinson Glass; a grandson, Kurt Alexander Schaeffer II; and a nephew, Edwin Robinson Glass Young.
Survivors include two daughters, Ellis Beasley Young and Mary Leila Schaefer, both of Uniontown; a great-granddaughter, Juliet Alexander Schaeffer of Port Arthur, Texas; a niece, Adéle Young Sommers of Youngstown, Fla.; and a nephew, Willard Pierce (Veronica) Young Jr. of Los Angeles, Calif.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 18, at 11 a.m. at Holy Cross Episcopal Church of Uniontown with Father Bryan Hatchett officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel. Burial will follow the funeral in the church cemetery. Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel is directing the services.
Active pallbearers will be Huett Brunson, Tommy Allison, Jim Mackensie, Jim Rankin, Bobby Byrd and Ralston Young. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Bamberg, Car Evans, Richard Byrd and William Rankin.
