Lula Brunson

Lula Mae Watson Brunson, age 76, of Detroit, Mich., formerly of Boligee, passed away on May 5, 2010.
She was born on Jan. 4, 1934, to the late Elijah and Lillie Bell Watson, the eighth of 12 children. She was employed by the Chrysler Corporation for 22 years. She was a member of Grace No. 83 International Masons and the Order of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by five siblings, Bertha, Elijah, John, Vinnie and Richard, and two children, Lovnova and Herman Jr.
Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Herman; three children, Selena, Curtis and Derek; five grandchildren, Alexandra, Curtis, Hannah, Jacqueline and Kyle; six siblings, Lillie Williams, Emma Speight, Annie (Louis) Randolph, Mozell (Moses) Chappell, Sarah Stribling and Lavert (Severe) Watson; and two goddaughters, Cynthia and Claudia.
Funeral services were held on May 21 at noon at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church of Detroit with pastor Harold H. Caldwell Jr. officiating. O.H. Pye III Funeral Home of Detroit directed the services.
Pallbearers were Jerome Bryant, Derryk Burgess, Larry Glaze, John Lee Jackson, Ralph Rogers and Gerald Woodward.
