Laura Louise May Howe, age 90, of Niceville, Fla., a former resident of Demopolis, passed away on June 9, 2010, at Manor at Blue Water Bay in Niceville.
She was born on Nov. 21, 1919, in Tennessee to the late John Dawson and Lena Johnson May.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ramon Williams Howe; a son, Donald Howe; and three sisters, Eloise Brooker, Johnnie Quinney and Virginina Ingram.
Survivors include two daughters, Sharon (Jimmy) Fauver of Niceville and Ramona Gallagher of Buffalo, N.Y.; a son, Phillip Howe of Buffalo, N.Y.; a brother, John Thomas May of Slidell, La.; two grandchildren, JoEtta (Blair) Barefoot of Mobile and Patricia (Chris) Norwood of Talladega; and two great-grandchildren, Jaden and Britton Barefoot.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 12, at 10 a.m. at Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel with the Rev. Steve Vernon officiating. Burial followed in Demopolis Memorial Gardens. Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel directed the services.
Pallbearers were Harold Park, Junior Brooker, Tommy Brooker, Blair Barefoot, Chris Norwood and Johnny Brooker.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Chicago, IL 60601.
