LIVINGSTON – The University of West Alabama’s Marengo County Alumni Chapter will hold a fish fry Saturday, Aug. 7, to fund scholarships for local students to attend UWA.

The fish fry takes place at the Demopolis City Landing Pavilion from 5 until 7 p.m., and to-go plates will be available. Advance tickets are $8, and they are available from alumni chapter members and at BankTrust, Robertson Banking Company, and Sweetwater Bank. The deadline to purchase tickets is Friday, July 30.

“We hope our local graduates and Tiger fans will come out to enjoy the delicious catfish supper and raise money for a great cause at the same time,” said TyAnne Stone, UWA alumni relations director. “Marengo County annually produces quality high school graduates, and the alumni chapter is pleased to provide scholarships to send them to UWA.”

The alumni chapter will also host a pre-game tailgate party prior to UWA’s season opener against Shorter College on Saturday, Aug. 28 at the Demopolis High School stadium.
