Robert Ellis Braxton, age 79, of Bessemer passed away on Aug. 7, 2010.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hobart and Georgianna Braxton; three brothers, John Braxton, Charlie Wheeler Braxton and William Browder Braxton; and his sister, Patsy Moore.
Survivors include his wife, Earnestine Braxton; three children, Marie Renee (Dell) Bryant, Robert (Kim) Braxton Jr. and Mark Braxton; five siblings, Mary E. Green of Demopolis, Rosie (Joe) Hunter of Uniotown, Barbara Ann James of Demopolis, Hobart (Geogina) Braxton of Demopolis and Haywood (Inez) Braxton of New York, N.Y.; five grandchildren, Travis Todd, Donella Daniel, Maurice Braxton, Marquice Braxton and Kaelyn Braxton; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Aug. 12, at noon at Morning Star Baptist Church with the Rev. Charlie Moore officiating. Interment will take place at Memorial Cemetery following the services. The body will lie in state from 11 a.m. to noon at the church prior to the funeral service. Smith and Gaston Funeral Services of Birmingham is directing the services.
