The West Alabama and Senior Center, the River City Car and Truck Club and the Intense Visions Car Club will sponsor a car, truck and bike show at the city landing field today (Saturday) beginning at 9 a.m.
Proceeds will benefit the West Alabama Senior Center and Anna-Coleman Yelverton, who is being treated for cancer.
“Registration will begin at 8:30, and the show will kick off at 9,” said Tyana Dixon of the West Alabama Senior Center. “There will be all kinds of activities for children and adults. There will be vendors — something for everyone.”
Dixon said the proceeds for the Senior Center — located at 500 E. Washington St. in Demopolis — would go towards field trips and equipment.
“We also make donations to places like Harriet’s House, the Rural Assistance Program that checks blood pressure and cholesterol and other areas,” Dixon said.
“We’re looking for people who would like to become members of the River City Car and Truck Club,” said Derrick Carter. “People who want to join can come to the car and truck show.”
