The River City Car and Truck Club and Intense Visions Car and Truck Club teamed up to put on a benefit car, truck and bike show at the city landing field on Saturday.
The show will benefit the West Alabama Senior Center and Anna-Coleman Yelverton, a local girl who is a cancer patient.
Car aficionados had a field day looking at the different makes and models, from a 1957 Ford to a 2004 Dodge Ram.
“I brought a 1995 Chevy Silverado truck,” said Derrick Clark of Vineland, and a member of Intense Visions. “It’s got a 5-inch body drop, 20-inch wheels, shaved door handles, detailed gate and a custom front end.”
Clark said he had been to several car shows, including Scraping the Coast, Cruising the Coast, Spring Fling and Scraping the Mountains.
“A lot of got o Biloxi, Miss., since they have a big show down there, about 6,000 cars,” said George Ballard. “A lot of us go to Tuscaloosa or Moundville or Fayette. Today, they’re having a big show in Meridian, Miss., and there is another one in Pigeon Forge, Tenn.”
