Schroeder named Miss COTR

The annual Christmas on the River pageants wrapped up Wednesday night when Jordyn Nicole Bailey was named Young Miss Christmas on the River. Buckley Nettles took first alternate in that competition while Brianna Gandy Doss finished third and Hannah Allen Whaley placed as fourth alternate.

The pageants began Saturday, Oct. 2 with the annual selection of Miss Christmas on the River. The title, which goes to a high school aged girl, is bestowed upon Demopolis High senior Tera Schroeder this year. She will be joined by first alternate Leanna Parker, second alternate Jessica Brock, third alternate Victoria Washburn and fourth alternate Morgan Cooper.

Camilla Tutt earned the title of Miss Junior Christmas on the River Monday night. Lauren Boone took first alternate in that competition. Addy Lambert placed second alternate. Anna Caroline Logan is third alternate and Caroline Overmyer took fourth alternate. The title of Young Miss Christmas on the River went to Mary-McClain Colgrove Tuesday. Sally Mackey is first alternate while Andruia Michelle Murdock is second alternate. McKenzie Laine Walker is third alternate while Kelsei Amaya Elmore is fourth alternate.

The winners and alternates from each classification will take part in the Christmas on the River Parade to be held Dec. 4 in downtown Demopolis.
