William “Billy” Sherman Jackson, 62, of Gallion passed away Saturday at Druid City Hospital in Tuscaloosa. He is survived by his mother Naomi Ruth Phillips Coats, daughters Pam Jackson (Dallas, Texas), Kristina Jackson and Amanda Jackson of Gallion, son Brian Jackson of Enterprise and brother Robert Vaughn of Gallion. Born Dec. 25, 1947 in Butler, he is preceded in death by his father William Lamar Jackson, sister Louise Jackson and brother James Michael Coats. Funeral services were held Tuesday at Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel at 2 p.m. Burial followed at Old Spring HIll Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Brooks Barkley officiating. Honorary pall bearers were the River City Bike Association of Demopolis. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Billy’s memory to the American Diabetes Association, 200 Office Park Drive, Suite 303, Birmingham, AL 35223.
