Robert Lee “Bobby” Kidd, Jr., 68, of Demopolis, passed away Saturday, Oct. 16 at his home.

He was preceded in death by his son, Robert Spencer Kidd, his parents: Robert Lee Kidd, Sr. and Blanche Knight Kidd, his grandmother, Ida Stratton

Survivors include his loving wife of forty-seven years, Virginia Ann McDaniel Kidd and his loving daughter, Martha Ann Kidd both of Demopolis; one brother-in-law, Joe McDaniel and his wife Peggy of Greensboro; several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Kidd will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at Trinity Episcopal Church in Demopolis with The Rev. John David Barnes, The Rev. Richard Cobbs,IV, Dr. Art Luckie, and The Rev. Bryan Hatchett officiating

Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Demopolis with Kirk Funeral Home of Demopolis Directing services.

Pallbearers: Melvin Abrams, Dan Burnett, Danny Easterwood, Tony Gary, Gene Shirley, Kelly Etheridge, Jason Wyatt, Jimbo Ward, and Boyd Mackey.

Bobby loved serving at Trinity Episcopal Church in Demopolis where he was elected to the vestry and served as Jr. and Sr. Warden; a delegate to the Diocesan Conventions, Lay Eucharistic Minister, Cursillo Community, and Kairos Prison Ministry. In his local community, he served on the Demopolis City Council, President of Lions Club, President of Kiwanis Club, and appointed by the Marengo County Commission to the 911 Board. Because of his love and service to the community the Chamber of Commerce awarded Kidd- Robbins Funeral Directors as Demopolis Business of Year in 2008. Bobby was elected the Alabama Board of Funeral Service, District 3 serving two terms and as Marengo County Deputy Coroner.
