The Demopolis Police Department arrested anb Anniston man as the result of an ongoing investigation against child predators by the department.

Newman Howard Grogan Jr., 47, was arrested on two warrants for Transmitting Obscene Material to a Child by Computer.

During the investigation, which began earlier this year, Grogan contacted what he believed to be a 14 year old female from Demopolis.

During the online chats Grogan transmitted nude images of himself by web cam to the teen, who was actually investigators from the Demopolis Police dept.

Grogan was arrested in Anniston by Demopolis Police Investigators and transported to the Demopolis Police Department where he was processed and then transported to the Marengo County Detention Center to await bond.

Demopolis Police Chief Tommie Reese said this is just one such case currently in the works by his department.
