Demopolis woman killed in car accident

Mobile — At approximately 8:10 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2010, Alabama State Troopers responded to investigate a three-vehicle traffic crash that claimed the life of a Marengo County woman and injured three others. The crash occurred at the 19 mile marker on Interstate 65.

Jennifer L. Nix, 41, of Demopolis was killed when a northbound 1998 Ford Explorer crossed the median into the southbound lanes and struck the 2000 Ford Expedition in which Nix was a passenger. The driver of the Explorer, Regina L. Brown, 42 of Creola and the driver of the Expedition, James R. Moore, 52, of Grove Hill were injured and transported to USA Medical Center.

A third vehicle, a 2010 Dodge Ram driven by Norman R. Nilsson, 48, of Daphne also struck the Explorer. Nilsson was transported to Mobile Infirmary where he was treated for his injuries. Nix was pronounced dead at the scene. Troopers continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
