SWEET WATER — The Sweet Water Bulldogs (9-3) ended McIntosh’s thirteenth playoff run with a 48-0 thumping Friday night.

Last night’s romp marked the second time the Bulldogs have beaten the Demons in the past three weeks, with a combined score of 95-0.

The ‘Dawgs and Demons exchanged punts on their opening possessions before Deon Waters took the first handoff of the Bulldogs second possession 55 yards for the score, giving Sweet Water a 6-0 lead with 5:24 left in the first.

McIntosh forced a turnover on downs on the first play of the second quarter but would punt the defensive stand away.

The Bulldogs marched down a short field on the ensuing possession, taking the 13-0 lead on a 1-yard quarterback sneak by Brett Davis, his eighth rushing score of the year.

Less than a minute later the Sweet Water defense hit the scoreboard when Ryan Langley picked up a fumble and took it 10 yards to the endzone for the 20-0 lead with five minutes left in the half.

On the Bulldogs’ next possession, working again from a short field, Davis found Linc Luker for a 28 yard pass, setting up a 12 yard run to the one-foot-line by Waters. On the next play, Terrance Sewell plunged over the goal line with 2:24 left in the half, giving the ‘Dawgs a 27-0 halftime lead.

The second half was more of the same. Waters took the opening kickoff of the second half to the Bulldog 40 and chewed up 39 yards on three carries on a drive that ate nearly seven minutes off the clock.

Waters gave way to Chris Landrum near the goal line, who found the endzone for the first time this season from three yards out and gave the Bulldogs a 34-0 lead.

With just a handful of seconds left in the third, Sewell broke a 77 yard run to the Demon one yard line and crashed into the endzone on the next play as time expired, giving Sweet Water a 41-0 lead.

Mid-way through the fourth, LaDerius Dumas thundered 27 yards untouched to take a 48-0 lead, sealing the Bulldogs’ date in the third round against St. Jude. Waters finished the night with 133 yards rushing. Sewell followed close behind with 115.

The Sweet Water defense allowed McIntosh only 43 yards total offense.
