William “Billy” Burgess Dukes, 57, of Linden, died Thursday, Dec. 2 at DCH Regional Medical Center. He was born Dec. 17, 1952 in Century White, Fla. Mr. Dukes was employed with Doric South Vault Company.

He was a member of the Thomaston Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran.

He is survived by mother, Georgia N. Dukes, of Linden; daughter, Hope Dukes, of Forkland; sisters, Louise “Bunny” (Fred) Duke, of Gallion, Sandra (Billy) Ballenger, of Louisville, Miss. and Pam (Gil) Farmer, of Linden and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Dec. 4 at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Brooks Barkley officiating. Burial was at Linden Memorial Park in Linden.

Active pallbearers were Jason Tuberville, Jeff Ford, Mitchell Snipes, Keith Hudson, David Yarbrough and Paul Sager.

Honorary pallbearers were the employees of Doric South Vault Company and AmStar Ambulance Co.
