UWA will close Monday

Due to threatening winter weather conditions, UWA and the Demopolis Higher Education Center will close Monday, Jan. 10. On campus classes will not meet, and all administrative offices will be closed. All faculty, staff and students should report to campus on Tuesday, Jan. 11, as scheduled.

The decision regarding further closure will be made by noon on Monday, Jan. 10. If no announcement regarding closure is made, then classes and events will be held as scheduled. UWA faculty, staff and students should closely monitor weather conditions and reports and use judgment before traveling in inclement weather.

Young Hall Cafeteria will be open regular business hours on Monday, January 10.

The BCSNC Viewing Event will be held as scheduled in the Young Hall Cafeteria Monday evening.

In the event that conditions require the University to remain closed beyond Monday, January 10, an announcement to this effect will be distributed to area media; sent to all faculty, staff and students via SchoolCast, the University’s emergency alert system; posted on the University Web page at http://www.uwa.edu/weather and updated on the weather information hotline (205-652-3888). Students and parents should consult these outlets for announcements.
