The Demopolis Police Department has arrested two females in connection with the passing of counterfeit currency at a Demopolis convenient store.

The department arrested Brittney Dawn Drummond, 19, of Greensboro and Renee Nicole Trippe, 25, of Greensboro for passing counterfeit $100 bills in the city.

Both women are being charged with Possession of a Forged Instrument First Degree.

“We want to thank the public for their tips which led to these arrests,” Demopolis Police Department Chief Tommie Reese said.

“I wish more people would get involved with helping the police because this is our community.”

The department began searching for the suspects earlier in the week after they attempted to pass off the bills at Diamond Oil Company and Mini Mart on U.S. Hwy 43. Reese said the arrests were made in Greensboro.
