Fifty-six volunteers from all over the State attended this event and participated in a Friday night dinner of shrimp and grits, spinach and strawberry salad, pork tenderloin, and all the fixings.

The volunteers were recognized and presented Certificates of Appreciation at the Alfa pavilion on the AU campus.

This event was sponsored by Monsanto.

Saturday offered the volunteers workshops on fundraising ideas, Volunteerism 101, experiential learning with hands-on fun, planning your club year, and recruiting members, volunteer helpers for your club, and training with the resource kits which are available in each County Extension office.

An extra special treat for the volunteers was free tickets to the AU versus Arizona State baseball game.

4-H Volunteers from Marengo County who attended were Kenesia and Patricia Cade from Thomaston.

Susan Thompson, 4-H Regional Extension Agent served on the planning committee for the event and presented a workshop with Wendy Padgett, 4-H REA.
