Marengo County — A single-vehicle crash Tuesday claimed the life of a Butler man.

The crash occurred at 11:45 a.m. four miles south of Linden on Alabama 69.

The initial investigation indicates that George Clayton Crosby, 31, of Butler was traveling north when he lost control of the 2008 GMC pickup that he was driving, left the roadway and struck a tree. Crosby was pronounced dead at the scene.

Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate this crash.
