DHS streak reaches 14 games

Demopolis (25-7, 4-0) continued its hot streak in the latter part of the week, downing region foe Selma 15-0 Friday after defeating Dallas County 3-1 Thursday.

The Lady Tigers got three strong innings of work from Madison Laduron (21-5) Friday. The junior allowed one hit and walked one while striking out five in the win.

Alex Crawford went 1-for-2 with a triple, four RBIs and two runs scored in the game. Raylee Eubanks was 2-for-3 with two doubles, two runs scored and thee RBIs. Donelle Hale was 2-for-3 with a run scored and two RBIs. Madison Bozeman went 2-for-2 with a pari of runs scored.

The win came a day after Demopolis defeated rival Dallas County, the No. 2 team in the Alabama Sports Writers Association Class 4A poll.

The home victory saw Laduron work a complete game, scattering four hits and three walks while striking out four and allowing one unearned run.

Kristin Beach went 1-for-3 with a run scored in the game. Laduron helped herself by going 2-for-2 at the plate, allowing courtesy runner Meredith Mackin to score for a run. Sydney Colyar was 1-for-3 with a run scored. Olivia Brame went 1-for-2. Madison Bozeman was 1-for-3 in the contest.

The Selma win marked the third victory of the week for the Lady Tigers, who opened competition Tuesday by blasting region foe Greenville 11-1.

Laduron worked all six innings, surrendering four hits, a run and three walks while striking out six in the win.

Beach was 1-for-2 with a double, two walks, two runs scored and an RBI in the game. Laduron went 1-for-3. Danielle Tatum ran for the Demopolis hurler, scoring a run in the process. Hale went 1-for-4. Mackin scored a pair of runs and stole two bases.

Colyar was 1-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI. Crawford scored a pair of run while Alexis Jones went 1-for-3 with two runs scored.

The Lady Tigers will play again Saturday, April 16 against Thomasville and Foley in a round robin.
