Demopolis (34-8) downed Hale County 8-0 Monday in its final tuneup before Friday’s area tournament.

The Lady Tigers’ effort saw Madison Laduron (28-6) work a seven-inning complete game while allowing only one hit and striking out nine for the win.

Kristin Beach went 1-for-3 with a double and two runs scored. Madison Bozeman was 1-for-3. Laduron went 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Raylee Eubanks was 1-for-4. Zoe Lewis went 2-for-4 with an RBI. Alex Crawford was 1-for-3 with an RBI. Alexis Jones went 1-for-3 with two runs scored.

Demopolis will host the Class 5A, Area 5 tournament Friday beginning at 9 a.m. when Greenville plays Selma in the opening game. DHS will face Wilcox immediately following.
