Dorothy Massey Smith, 58, of Sweet Water, died Thursday, June 30 at DCH Regional Medical Center. She was born July 3, 1952 in Demopolis. She was a payroll clerk with Sweet Water Trucking Company. She was a member of the Sweet Water Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Virgil M. Smith, of Sweet Water; mother, Martha Massey, of Demopolis; daughter, Haley (Kevin) Hogancamp, of Williamsburg, Va.; brothers, Luther A. (Linda) Massey, of Demopolis and Freddie L. (Wanda) Massey, of Coker; sisters, Ethel M. (Wallace) Thomas, of marion and Bernice M. (James) Johnson, of Demopolis.

She was preceded in death by her father, Luther Avery Massey, and brother, Robert Lewis Massey.

Funeral services were held at Sweet Water Baptist Church Sunday, July 3 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Douglas Turner and Rev. Freddie Massey officiating. Burial was at Demopolis Memorial Gardens in Demopolis.

Active Pallbearers were Jesse Johnson, Jamee Johnson, Kevin Thomas, Kelley Thomas, Doug Smith, Russ Smith and Luke Massey.

Honorary Pallbearers were Sim Lewis, Will Lewis, Matt Lewis, Rube Lewis, Miller Lewis, Allen Ford Lewis, Johnny Robertson, Nolan Atkins, Denise Lewis and Jane Loftin.
