John Willie McAlpine was born April 1, 1921, to the late Nebraska McAlpine and the late Mary Virginia McAlpine in Forkland, (Greene County) Alabama. He celebrated his 90th birthday with a Birthday Party given by his nine children on April 2.

Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, July 6 at 11 a.m. at First United Baptist Church Cemetery in Forkland.

He leaves to cherish his memory a devoted wife of 67 years, Hollie Mae McAlpine; four sons, Johnny W. McAlpine (Helen) of Madison (Huntsville) AL; Jeff (Cathy) of Canton, Ohio; Bobby (Patricia) of Cincinnati, Ohio; Troy (Vickie) of Atlanta, Ga.; five daughters, Allie Morris,†Helen (Finest) Miles, Bernice McAlpine, all of Forkland, and Elnora (Isreal) Jones of Biloxi, Miss. and Catherine (Watkin) of Atlanta, Ga.; son, Jimmie Lee, preceded him in death. Two grandsons who he raised, Keith King of Atlanta, Ga. and Tyler McAlpine of Forkland; one sister, Elnora McAlpine of Forkland. He was preceded in death by one sister and four brothers. Sisters-in law, Allie Mae Harvey, of Montgomery, Ceola McAlpine of Forkland; brother-in-law, James (Waddelle) Smith of Buffalo, NY; twenty-six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
