LINDEN – The M.A. Classics of Marengo Academy in Linden will present their first annual back-to-school Christian kick-off next month.

The Christian concert will feature The Red Roots of Hurley, Miss. and The Cullomburg Quartet of Cullomburg, Ala.

The Red Roots are a group of 20-year-old female triplets that specialize in Christian Country music.

They are among the top five nominees for the Horizon Group of the Year Award.

Karen Kincaid, a member of M.A. Classics said that she talked with their father, Mark Taylor, about coming and they were delighted to come and perform.

The Cullomburg Quartet specializes in Southern Gospel music.

“The Cullomburg Quartet performed once at Forrest Hill Baptist Church here in Linden,” Kincaid said, adding that the concert is designed to reach out to the teenagers and children through the music ministry. “The concert will, of course, help raise money for the school, but the music program helps to bring young people to Christ.”

Kincaid, Jimmy Kaylor and Linda Sammons are the main organizers for this event.

“Jimmy and Linda aren’t members of the M.A. Classics but they offered their services because of their love for the school.”

Sammons will be the Master of Ceremonies for the concert. The concert will be Friday, August 5th at 7PM at Marengo Academy. Tickets are $10.
