County teacher recognized

Jana Hoggle, Technology Coordinator for the Marengo County School System, was selected to receive the Alabama 2011 Chiquita Marbury Technology Innovation Award in the “District Technology Coordinator” category during the recent Alabama Educational Technology Conference in Birmingham, Alabama.
The Chiquita Marbury Technology Innovation Award is named in honor of Chiquita Marbury, who served the Alabama Department of Education for many years as a passionate visionary in technology integration. Nominees are judged based upon “Innovation and Creativity,” “Impact on Teaching and Learning,” “Leadership,” “Teamwork,” and “Scholarship.”
“Jana Hoggle provides outstanding support to teachers who play a vital role in providing 21st century technology instruction to Marengo County students in preparing them for college and careers in the global workforce where technology is in the forefront,” said county superintendent of Education Luke Hallmark.
Hoggle also currently serves as the current president of the Alabama Educational Technology Association.
