Old photos needed for new school website

As part of the design process for the system’s in-progress website, Demopolis City Schools Technology Director Jeremiah Dial is on the hunt for old photos.

Dial is looking for old, especially black and white, photos of Demopolis City Schools buildings and students. The idea is to use the photos in a collage of sorts on the main page of the schools system’s new website.

“I want to get black and white, sepia kind of pictures of the school,” Dial said. “I want to bring something different, something more dynamic for the school.”

Dial said the effort is designed to tie the modern layout of the forthcoming website to the system’s rich history.

“You don’t forget your past. You don’t forget your history,” Dial said. “Demopolis is firmly rooted in its history. I thought if I could do a collage of old pictures of the school and students who used to go here a long time ago, that would kind of bring some common ground to bring the old and new together.”

Those wishing to submit pictures for the website can do so by e-mailing Dial at jdial@demopoliscityschools.org or jeremiah.dial@gmail.com or by calling him at 334-216-3511.

“If they’ve got actual pictures, they can bring them to me and I can scan them in, turn them into digital and give them their pictures back,” Dial said.

The school’s temporary website is up and can be viewed at www.dcsedu.com, which will also be the new domain.

Dial noted that all of the links do not work, but he will be adding content everyday.

The financial statements for July and the current breakfast and lunch menus are on the site under their respective departments.
