Pine Belt Wireless and Pine Belt Telephone recently partnered with Departments of Human Resources in both Choctaw and Marengo Counties to bring Christmas to more children.

Now through December, Pine Belt Customers can choose one of three agencies to receive a gift to be given to one of the agency clients when activating a new or renewing an existing Pine Belt service. Pine Belt will then donate a new toy in the customer’s name to that agency’s Christmas program.

The choices are The Marengo County DHR’s Project Merry Christmas, Salvation Army Angel Tree and Choctaw County’s DHR Christmas Project.

“It is the customer’s choice but we believe that Pine Belt customers in Butler and Marengo County will get behind the Marengo County DHR Project Merry Christmas,” said Pine Belt President John C. Nettles. “At Pine Belt, we want to do anything that we can to make this Christmas as good as we can for all children in our Pine Belt service area.”

Any customer who starts or renews telephone, internet, long distance or wireless service can make the choice. One toy will be donated in their name for each service activated.

In Marengo County, Pine Belt customers can visit the Pine Belt store in Linden to be a part of this special program.

“On Friday, Nov. 18, we delivered the first toy to Tawanna Jones at DHR. We hope our customers will pick Project Merry Christmas and give us the opportunity to deliver many more toys to this worthy cause,” said Beverly Duke, Pine Belt’s Sales Manager in Linden.

“In 2011, we started special support programs for Volunteer Fire Departments and local schools. This is another effort to reach out and help those who are helping others in Marengo, Dallas, Wilcox, Perry and Choctaw counties. At Pine Belt, we like to be known as the ‘Neighbors You Can Call On’ and we are proud to be able to support our neighbors in every way that we can,” Nettles added.

Pine Belt Wireless is a family owned and operated company with deep roots in the Black Belt of Alabama. The company is a sister to Pine Belt Telephone Company which has been providing landline based services to Arlington, Dixon’s Mills, Sweet Water and Nanafalia for more than 50 years.
