The Demopolis Police Department led a drug roundup Friday that netted nine arrests, the seizure of undisclosed amounts of marijuana and U.S. currency as well as two vehicles.

Officers executed a search warrant at 1006 Arcola Road, where the items were seized. DPD officers then proceeded to execute warrants that led to the arrest of eight dealers from various locations around the city.

All those taken into custody were charged with varying counts of Distribution of Controlled Substance.

Walter Evans, 22, faced three counts. Baha Abdallah, 29, and Travis Burrell, 18, face two counts apiece.

Antonio McNealey, 27, Lequintin Lomax, 27, David Wallace, 58, Russell Wayne McCray, 22, and Skyler Daniels, 26, each face one count.

The DPD arrested PIerre Griffin, 24, on one count. His arrest, which took place in November, was in connection with Friday’s roundup.

“I want to say thanks to all of the agencies involved for their cooperation and participation in the raid,” Demopolis Police Chief Tommie Reese said.

He also commended his officers and gave special thanks to the DPD Narcotic Division for their efforts in the undercover operation.

Reese said more arrests are to follow as the undercover operation continues.

“Today could be your day,” Reese offered as a reminder to those who step outside the bounds of the law in Demopolis.
