Voter deadlines for the Aug. 28 municipal elections are fast approaching.

The final day for voter registration is Friday, Aug. 17.

The last day to apply for an absentee ballot is Thursday, Aug. 23. Absentee ballots returned by mail must be postmarked no later than Monday, Aug. 27, and it must be in the hands of the absentee election manager by noon on Aug. 28. Absentee ballots delivered by hand must be turned in by 5 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 27.

If necessary, a run-off will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 9. Newly elected mayors and city council members will take office Monday, Nov. 5.
