Andrew “Red” Lee Chiles, 80, of Demopolis died July 23 at Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital in Demopolis.
Born May 19, 1932, in Marengo County to the late Andrew Lee and Mary Ella Wares Chiles.
A devoted husband and loving father, Chiles was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Lee and Mary Ella Wares Chiles; two sisters, Rosalie Chiles Pearson and Dorothy McGilberry; and one brother, George Chiles.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 54 years, Cecile Speed Chiles; daughter, Sharon Chiles of Dallas, Texas; son, Andrew “Andy” Lee (Juliette) Chiles, III, of Orlando, Fla.; brother, Henry (Gwen) Chiles of Baton Rouge, La.; brother-in-law T E Pearson; and grandchildren Andrew Jayden Chiles and Kaylee Cecile Chiles.
The funeral will be held at First Baptist Church on Friday, July 27 at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Carl Williams officiating and Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel directing. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, July 26 from 6-8 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Rob Pearson, Eddie Pearson, Hank Chiles, Doug Chiles, Lee McGilberry and Stuart Waldrop. Honorary pallbearers are T E Pearson and the Deacons of the First Baptist Church of Demopolis Andrew Class.
