Mr. Frank Armstead Sr. of Forkland died on Wednesday, July 18 at his residence.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ovetta Armstead of Forkland; five sons, Bobby (Annie) Armstead of Demopolis, Frank Armstead Jr., of Huntsville, Michael Armstead of Forkland, Phillip Armstead of Forkland, and Leavert Armstead of Douglasville, Ga.; five daughters, Delois Walton of Demopolis, Cynthia Armstead of Demopolis, Barbara Armstead of Forkland, Lisa Armstead of Forkland and Bernice (James) Charleston of Forkland; six brothers, Theodore (Annie) Armstead of Forkland, Freddie (Dorothy) Armstead of Demopolis, Henry (Lettie) Armstead of Detroit, Mich., Mark Armstead Jr., of Canton, Ohio, James (Rebecca) Armstead of Demopolis, and Mark Armstead of Demopolis; four sisters, Fannie (Charles) Hall of Gallion, Mary Armstead of Chicago, Ill., Ada Armstead of Demopolis and Eula Armstead of Detroit, Mich; two brothers-in-law, Rufus (Mary) Jackson of Canton, Ohio, and Joe (Dorothy) Jackson of Canton, Ohio; two sisters-in-law, Charlotte Watkins of Canton, Ohio and Alice Armstead of Detroit, Mich; 21 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; adopted sons, Robert Collins, Gary (Donna) Malone; one devoted cousin, Lucy Rainey of Forkland; two devoted friends, Callie (Earl) Gilbert of Forkland and George Mullen of Gallion; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and dear friends.

Graveside services were held on Monday, July 23 at 11 a.m. at Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The Rev. Fred D. Moore, Pastor of Christian Chapel Church, Demopolis, officiated the funeral. Interment services followed with Larkin & Scott Funeral Directors of Demopolis, “The Trusted and Most Professional Name in Funeral Services for over 107 years in West Alabama,” entrusted with all arrangements.
