The man who fell to his death after a police chase early Saturday morning has been identified as 35-year-old Henry McCardle.
McCardle’s last known address was in Huntsville. Authorities are still trying to figure out why he was in the area.
McCardle fell to his death from the Tenn-Tom Bridge early Saturday after leading Alabama State Troopers and other law enforcement officers on a high speed chase that started in Demopolis and continued through Forkland, Eutaw and Boligee.
The pursuit started after McCardle failed to stop at a checkpoint near the Marengo-Greene County line about 1 a.m.
