School board approves 20.1 million budget

The Demopolis City Schools board approved a $20.1 million budget for fiscal year 2013 during a meeting Monday afternoon.

The board passed the budget without opposition. It now goes to the state for final approval.

The second open meeting for public input on the budgeting process was held Monday.

The school system projects to start fiscal year 2013 with 10.5 million in the bank. After that, the system expects to spend $20.1 million, while bringing in $18.7 million in revenue.
