Carolyn N. Smith, 61, of Demopolis died Thursday, Sept. 27 at DCH in Tuscaloosa.

She was born May 25, 1951, in Jacksonville, Fla. to the late Mr. and Mrs. Carlos Edward Norman.

She is survived by her loving husband, Charles “Chuck” Smith Jr. and her son, Jason Norman Smith and his partner, Robert McGill.

The funeral will be Monday, Oct. 1 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Demopolis with the Rev. A.L. Courtney and the Rev. Carl Williams officiating and Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel directing. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the family home Sunday, Sept. 30 from 5-7 p.m. and again at the church one hour prior to the service on Monday.

Active pallbearers will be Kim Mayton, Robert McGill, Ben Sherrod, Gray Patrenos, Scott Freeman, Dave Harwell, Woody Collins and Alvin Williams.

Honorary pallbearers will be RockTenn coworkers and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society.
