Thomas-Payne wedding

Linden Presbyterian Church in Linden was the setting of the June 9 wedding of Carrie Anne Thomas and Joseph Franklin Payne.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. John Payne Thomas of Linden and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Franklin Payne of Altoona.

The five o’clock ceremony was solemnized by Rev. George H. McKee of Faunsdale. Nuptial music was presented by Mrs. Nancy Gardner of Hokes Bluff. Soloists were Mrs. Tammy Glass and Mrs. Mitzi Gates both of Linden.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. Tracey Payne Friedberg of Gadsden, sister of the groom, served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Lacy Breccaroli of Loretto, Pa.; Haley Hogancamp of Williamsburg, Va.; Carla Mars of Deatsville; Chelsea Morgan of Northport; and Amanda Solliday of Pell City. Addison Payne Friedberg of Gadsden, niece of the groom, served as flower girl.

Ernest Franklin Payne served his son as best man. Groomsmen were David “Butch” Dixon of Gadsden; John Wood Friedberg, Jr. of Gadsden, brother-in-law of the groom; Gene Paul Proctor of Altoona; and Curtis L. Whited of Southside. Usher was James Gregory Singleton, Jr. of Tuscaloosa. Chiming of the five o’clock hour on the historic church bell was James Gregory Singleton, Sr. of Linden.

Attending the bride book was Lisa Yandel and program attendant was Quin Yandel both of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla. The wedding was directed by Mrs. Lee Singleton assisted by Ms Lori Chapman both of Linden.

CARRIE ANNE

The after-rehearsal supper hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Franklin Payne was held at the fellowship hall of the Linden Presbyterian Church. The wedding reception following the ceremony was held at River Bend Lodge in Myrtlewood. Guest enjoyed entertainment furnished by the bluegrass band Kelli Johnson & Chimney Peak of Gadsden.

After a trip to Great Exhuma, Bahamas the couple is at home in Altoona.
