Friday is “National Wear Red Day,” and Mayor Mike Grayson made a proclamation Monday to make Friday “Wear Red Day” in Demopolis as well.

The purpose of Wear Red Day is to raise awareness for heart disease for women, and the American Heart Association hosts it.

Demopolis resident Kelley Mullins, who had triple bypass surgery three years ago, said it is important to raise awareness in the area.
