The Linden Board of Education met Monday night and approved Dr. Timothy Thurman as the assistant superintendent. Dr. Thurman is principal of Linden High School.

The board also approved contracting Barbara Hildreth to provide remediation for the Alabama High School Exit Exam for Linden High School students in February and March.

In addition, the board approved the English Language Arts Textbook Committee for the 2012-13 school year. Members from Linden Elementary are Jeremica Miller and Wylene Jones; from George P. Austin Junior High, Sara Blackmon and Telena Williams; from Linden High School, Mitzi Gates and Pam McPherson; and the parent is Debra Boykin.

In other business, the board approved the financial reports for November 2012.
