UWA softball double header with Tuskegee rescheduled

LIVINGSTON – The University of West Alabama softball doubleheader originally scheduled for Tuesday at Tuskegee University has been rescheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 26. The first game will begin at noon.

The Tigers opened the 2013 season with a doubleheader sweep at Stillman on Saturday. UWA’s next action is in the Charger Chillout this weekend at Wilson Morgan Park in Decatur, Ala. The Tigers begin play in the three-day event with games on Friday against Florida Tech (11 a.m.) and North Georgia (1 p.m.). In all, UWA will play six games at the tournament.

West Alabama is led in hitting by left fielder Whitney Brown, who is hitting .625 with a double, triple, grand slam home run and eight runs batted in after two games. Stephanie Shoup is hitting .571 with a triple. Jessica Brock has a 2.47 earned run average, but did figure in a decision after pitching 5.2 innings in the season opener.
